Description

In 2004, the Township adopted the Bicycle and Pedestrian Trails Master Plan for New Hanover.  The Plan sets forth a long-term program that will guide future planning, design, and implementation of a Township-wide system of trails to be utilized by residents for recreational and non-automotive travel.  Central to the plan are the linkages interconnecting neighborhoods and parks within the southern portions of the Township.  Additionally, the Plan recommends linkages with existing and proposed regional trail systems being developed by other entities.  The Master Plan is the product of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Trails Advisory Committee, in consultation with other constituencies.  The proposed trail system is expected to be completed in phases and depends upon sufficient funding.
