EARNED INCOME TAX INCREASE

     On the November 2006 voting ballot the New Hanover Township residents as a whole approved an increase of .15% to the existing 1% earned income tax for the purpose of open space revitalization in the Township.  If your employer was unable to withhold the entire amount of 1.15 throughout the year in 2007, please remember it is the individual's responsibility to make certain the full amount of the tax is paid when filing your 2007 return.  In addition, you can also take this opportunity to provide a copy of the return to your employer to get the correct amount withheld for your local taxes for future years.
