Winter Cheers Food and Wine Tasting, Saturday, February 29 7:00-10:00pm

La Massaria and New Hanover Township Parks and Recreation proudly present the inaugural Winter Cheers Food and Wine Tasting! Join us for an evening of fine wine, spirits, local beer, and fabulous food! The evening begins with a cocktail hour in the beautiful lower floor of La Massaria, featuring a cash bar, a grand antipasto display, as well as passed hors d'oeuvres. Shortly before 8:00PM, we will move upstairs to the picturesqe ballroom which will be full of over a dozen wines to sample, as well as local beers, and seasonal spirits. Food stations include Chef Carved Filet Mignon, Mashed Potato Bar, Seared Sea Scallops, and La Massaria's Signature Doughnut Wall! A portion of each ticket sold will go directly to the New Hanover Township Parks and Recreation Department! Join us for a fantastic evening for a great cause! Easter Egg Hunt, CANCELED

The annual Easter Egg Hunt is held at Community Park. There will be roughly 5,000 eggs filled with candy or toys. There will be a section for ages 4 and under and ages 5 to 10. After all the eggs are collected children will get to take their picture with the Easter Bunny. The Easter Egg Hunt will start at 10:00AM so please arrive early. Parking is available in the Park.  Attendance: 250+ 

The Parks and Recreation Department is looking for volunteers to stuff the eggs. If you are interested please call 610-323-1008 ext. 104.

Fishing Derby, CANCELED

The annual Fishing Derby is held at Hickory Park and is for children under 12. Children must bring their own fishing gear and bait. We do have a live bait machine at the park entrance. Participants must bring their fish up to the Recreation Tent to be measure if they would like to have a chance to win a prize. Prizes include; first fish caught, largest fish, most fish caught and smallest fish. Stony Creek Anglers will be donating the fish again this year.  Attendance: 30+

You must fill out a Fishing Derby Waiver to participate in the Derby. 

Fenders and Food Trucks, CANCELED

The Parks and Recreation Department decided to combine two events (Food Truck Festival and the Car Show) into one. This is our second largest event and is free for the public to attend. There will be food vendors, crafters, nonprofits, local business and a car show. We will also have yard games and music. Car Show awards will be announced at 2:30pm. The rain date for this event is Sunday, May 17. 

Touch A Truck Day, Saturday, August 1 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM

Join us for some family fun at Hickory Park! Children will be able to get an up-close look that their favorite vehicles. This is also a great opportunity to meet the people who build, protect and serve our community! Previous years we have had vehicles from our Public Works, Police, Fire Company and a local ambulance company. The Parks and Recreation Department will be selling food and drinks. Attendance: 200+ 

 Fall Frolic, Saturday, September 12 from 12:00PM to 5:00PM

This will be the 33rd annual Fall Frolic held at Hickory Park. This is our largest event for the year and takes up the entire park. We will be selling wrist bands for all participants to enjoy the rides. This event also includes local businesses, food trucks, crafts and music. Stay tuned for more information on wrist band pricing and the rides. The rain date for this event is Sunday, September 13. Attendance: 2,000+

Halloween Happenings, Wednesday, October 28 from 6:00PM to 7:30PM

The 6th annual Halloween Event is held at the Recreation Center. Local businesses will have tables set up on the perimeter of the gym to hand out flyers, business cards and of course candy! There will also be children’s crafts, a photo both and raffle prizes. Anyone who comes dressed up get a chance to win! Attendance: 150+

 Breakfast with Santa, Saturday December 5 at 9:30AM

Breakfast with Santa will be held at the Recreation Center. Children and Adults will enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet. After breakfast they will get a chance to visit with Santa and take pictures. Children 3 to 10 will receive a goodie bag from Santa. You must pre-register for the event. Seats are limited.  Pricing and registration form coming soon….
