TOWNSHIP TIDBIT:

New Hanover Township “free schools” started in 1850 with the operation of 10 one-room schools. The township-run school system closed in 1949, but all of the buildings still stand today.

Volunteer Opportunities


Volunteers are needed to maintain parks and assist with programs and events. If interested, email Eileen Pogany at epogany@newhanover-pa.org or call 610 323-1008 ext 101.

Also needed:  Kiosk/message boards, and landscaping/flowers at parks in flower boxes.

Fall Frolic Volunteers Needed - September 17, 2022 - rain date Sept. 19  -  Noon - 5:00 PM
The Township's premier community day event takes place at Hickory Park, 2140 Big Road on September 18 and provides various venues for family entertainment at a very low cost.  Volunteers are needed to staff the event.   There are a number of opportunities for how you can be of assistance.  Feel free to contact Eileen Pogany at 610 323-1008  ext 101 if you would like to explore ways  you might enjoy being involved.  Thank you!
