PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR — New Hanover Township (population 13,000), Montgomery County, PA seeks an experienced leader to serve as its Public Works Director. The position and leads the daily activities of a productive department that includes 8 FTEs and 1 PTEs. The department maintains approximately 80 miles of roads and cares for several parks, open spaces and public facilities. The successful candidate possesses integrity, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to foster a positive work environment. Candidates must possess at minimum five years municipal public works experience, site development experience with a regional developer or production homebuilder, or similar experience. WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY OPERATOR - New Hanover Township Authority, Montgomery County, PA seeks a skilled and experienced individual to serve as its Wastewater Operator II or Operator III (trainee). Salary range for an Operator II is $24.69 to $28.11. Salary range for an Operator III is $17.68 to $23.06. Both positions offer opportunities for advancement.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks required to ensure proper operation and maintenance of the WWTP facilities and collection system. Candidates must possess both mechanical and electrical aptitude. Previous wastewater experience is desirable. The Operator II/III job descriptions are located on the township website. FT, 40 hrs/wk with OT required when needed. Participate in on-call, weekend and holiday rotation. Must be able to perform manual labor and lift 80 lbs. An Operator II must possess a PA DEP Wastewater System Class B, Subclass 1,4 Operator Certification. An Operator III must attain a valid PA DEP Wastewater System Class B, Subclass 1,4 Operator Certification within 18 months of employment.
